For someone who has been called everything from 'bizarre' to 'one-of-a-kind' to 'weird' as often as I have, I never cease to wonder at the number of times I've heard, "You remind me of someone I used to know," or, "Wow, you're just like my friend..." So, if I'm so weird and stuff, how is it that everyone knows someone like me? I refuse to believe it.
I'm just your average 20-something chick, trying to be me, make a life for myself, pay down my student debts, and still have a little fun. |
While stats need not come into it, I will happily share some of my likes and dislikes. Star Wars is good. Heck, it's great, especially if we're talking about the oldies, puppets and all, though I rather like Attack of the Clones, and The Phantom Menace did have it's moments. Cabaret is a fantastic film. You should watch it. Music is a wonderful thing, and listening to it is even better. And I'm talking about REAL music, not just that crap that blasts from the stereos of suped-up, if otherwise, shitty little cars. Turn down your bass, people, there's more to music than what comes out of a sub-woofer. Depeche Mode is my favourite band, but it is not the only band I listen to. My CD rack is organised in these sections: DM (chronologically from latest to earliest), Pop/Rock/Alternative (alphabetically by artist and chronological in order of each artist's album release), Jazz (alphabetically, chronologically), and last but certainly not least, Classical (in the same manner as the others). I like to use non-American spellings of words, even though I was born in the States. I drink coffee and like candy way too much. I didn't grow out of horses when I discovered boys. Don't get between me and my cat. Or between me and my mom. My mother rocks. I'm not as tall as she is, but am about average height for a man, even though I'm most definitely a woman. I don't have enough time in my daily life. I work two jobs, one which I like, one which I like less, neither in the field I wish I were working in. Fantasy books, flicks, and art are wonderful things, if they're good. I'll say the same for sci-fi, too. Labyrinth is an awesome movie, and David Bowie IS the Goblin King. Don't argue, he is. I spend as much time as I can, which lately isn't much, playing Realms of Despair, a text-based MUD of masterful proportions. It's where I get my role-play fix when I'm not playing D&D, and it's extended my social life extensively. You know who you are. I disliked university rather more than is healthy, yet, for some reason, they keep thinking that I'd like to give them money. On the other hand, I loved my college programme; too bad it only lasted four intensive months.
I think that's about good enough. It says much, and yet, remarkably little.
